In my recent survey, over 70% of residents said that regenerating our towns is a priority. That’s why I work with traders and local business groups in all of our towns to promote our high streets and to support new jobs and investment.
Over the past 12 months I have:
- Held a regeneration forum in Elland. Following this the Government has confirmed that Elland town centre is now eligible to bid for up to £25 million of Government regeneration funds.
- Supported Burnley Road, Todmorden, in their successful bid for the Great British High Street Award in the ‘rising star’ category. This follows Hebden Bridge's successful bid the year before.
Did you know?
- Around 90 per cent of all independent shops, pubs, restaurants and cafes in Calder Valley have benefited from a one-third reduction in Business Rates resulting in an annual saving of up to £8,000 per retailer.
