Transport That Works For Everyone

One of my top priorities is making sure that our local transport network receives the investment that it needs to make your journey easier, quicker, and safer.

This year I have worked to support numerous different projects including:

  • The £20.4 million new railway station for Elland which remains on track to open in 2022/23 – thanks to Government funding.
  • New trains on the Calder Valley Line will be rolled out from October. These trains, complete with excellent facilities, will bring more capacity and space for passengers. Most of the old Pacer trains will be phased out by the end of 2019.
  • Platform extensions at our local railway stations, signalling upgrades on the Calder Valley Line, improved car park facilities at Mytholmroyd and step-free access at Hebden Bridge, with Todmorden's step-free upgrade soon to follow.

Did you know?

The Calder Valley is due to benefit from transport improvements totalling over £250 million over the next few years.
