No. 10 alleged parties
Thank you for contacting me about the parties that have allegedly taken place during lockdown restrictions.
Many have asked whether I was there and have asked what my views are on what is said to have taken place.
First of all, I was not at this or any other alleged party at Downing Street and because the only information I have is the same as what is reported in the press and news channels, I genuinely cannot comment further until the investigation has concluded.
The Prime Minister, as you will know, has asked the Cabinet Secretary to investigate the allegations and will report his findings in due course.
In light of the fact that so many people within the Calder Valley lost loved ones during the pandemic, missed out on seeing or spending time with family and sacrificed much of their liberties and lifestyles during the pandemic, I fully expect people to lose their jobs if indeed what is reported turns out to be true. This is the exact stance that I took with Dominic Cummings when he decided to break restrictions.
We must, however, wait until we know exactly what happened.
Thank you again for taking the time to contact me.
