Calderdale Council have today announced that Eastwood Waste & Recycling Centre (Todmorden) will be reopened this Friday 22nd May.
From Friday, the three recently reopened sites - Brighouse, Halifax and Todmorden - will also accept wood and metal as well as general, non-electrical bulky and garden waste.
Eastwood will operate in line with the same strict safety measures as the other two sites to protect both staff and visitors. These include:
-
Only one person is allowed per car
-
Proof of postal address required on entry (i.e. a utility bill or driver’s licence)
-
Sites can only accept bagged general household waste, garden waste and bulky items of household waste. This is to make visits quick
-
Staff are unable to assist with unloading so please only bring items you can safely carry alone
-
Traffic management will be in place at each site
-
People must remain in their vehicle whilst queuing and are asked to switch off their engines
The two sites will open:
-
Monday to Friday 8am - 4.30pm
-
Saturday 8am - 3.30pm
- Sunday 9am - 3.30pm
Long queues are expected.
Do not attend the tip if you are self-isolating or are having coronavirus symptoms. If anyone in your household has had symptoms, then the waste should be double bagged and stored for 72 hours before being brought to site.
Residents are reminded not to bring any other type of waste to the sites, as there will not be skips available.
Before attending the HWRC, residents are asked to read the full guidelines on site safety at https://www.calderdale.gov.uk/v2/coronavirus/service-disruption#hwrcs
