From 29th October, Yorkshire Water will be returning to work on Mill Bank Road, Mill Bank as they need to do some repairs to the reinstatement after an old water pipe was replaced at the beginning of the year. The reinstatement has been damaged by the weather and so they need to replace it with new tarmac and reset the kerbs in the vicinity.
Yorkshire Water hope to have the work completed within 5 days, but they will do all they can to get the work finished as soon as possible. They will need to close Mill Bank Road from the junction with Lower Mill Bank Road. A diversion will be put in place and access will be made available for those residents within the road closure. Residents in the area have been informed of these works through the letter below which has been distributed. Please contact my office or Yorkshire Water (using the phone number in the letter below) if you would like further information.
Road Repairs in Mill Bank Road, Mill Bank, Ripponden
As you may recall we replaced a length of old water pipe in Mill Bank Road earlier this year, during a period of very cold, snowy weather. Unfortunately, the weather conditions have affected the reinstatement, which means that we will need to return to site and carry out some repairs to the road.
On week commencing 29 October 2018 we’ll return to dig out some of the reinstatement and replace it with new tarmac and reset the kerbs in the vicinity. Our contract partner, Morrison Utility Services, will be doing this work on our behalf and anticipate the works to take up to 5 days to complete. Where possible we will complete the work as soon as possible and aim to open the road sooner, subject to any on site issues that we may experience.
We’ll do our best to minimise any disruption during the works, however it will be necessary to close Mill Bank Road from the junction with Lower Mill Bank Road for approximately 100 metres to near the Old Vicarage. A diversion will be put in place and access will be made available for those residents within the road closure so that parking where possible is still available for you and if it is safe to do so. In addition, there may be some parking restrictions outside your properties when the works are in progress, however we will try to keep these to a minimum.
This work will not affect your water supply and we will not need access to your stop tap or property.
To support you with any queries before and through the duration of the works, you can speak to our customer service team who will be able to assist you and escalate any issues you may have. They can be contacted on 0344 902 0227 Monday to Friday between the hours of 8.00am to 17.00pm. Alternatively you can speak to our teams or supervisor on site during the works who will assist you where possible or escalate on your behalf.
If the work outlined above is not directly on your street, we will not be completing any work outside your property, however this letter is to notify you of the work in the vicinity and to let you know of any impact it may have on traffic and parking in the area.
If you need to contact us out of the above hours, we have our Contact Centre on 0345 1 24 24 24, this is available 24 hours a day for emergencies.
Thank you for your patience and support during these works and I apologise in advance for any inconvenience that this may cause to you.
