Craig has welcomed further COVID-19 financial support for Calderdale businesses. The support measures are intended to help businesses which have been affected by COVID-19 restrictions, or by the Omicron variant.
This is a new financial package provided by the Government to Calderdale. The Government has now given over £398 million to support businesses and jobs in Calderdale during the pandemic.
There are two grants at present, the Additional Restrictions Grant ('ARG') and the Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant ('OHL').
The OHL Grant is intended for businesses in the hospitality, leisure or accommodation industries and entitles businesses to a grant of up to £6000.
You can apply for the OHL Grant here: https://www.calderdale.gov.uk/v2/coronavirus-covid-19/help-businesses-a…
The latest round of Additional Restrictions Grant (ARG) funding is open to businesses which:
- have been severely impacted by COVID restrictions, or by issues relating to the Omicron variant,
AND
- have also not previously had an ARG Severely Affected Top-up payment.
All businesses will be paid based on their rateable value. For further guidance about the eligibility criteria and the grants available, visit https://www.calderdale.gov.uk/v2/coronavirus/businesses/grants/arg
Craig Whittaker, Calder Valley's Member of Parliament, said:
“This Government support is most welcome. It will provide vital financial assistance to businesses whom have lost trade over the past few months due to the Omicron variant.
Please do check the Council website for more information. If eligible, I would urge you to submit an application to the Council."
